For this project, I took all of the old trophies I’ve won out of a box in the basement and consolidated them into one sculpture that could be displayed by itself. The title comes from the word on the first trophy I ever won, which I decided to use as the base. The process of dismembering the little human representations of all my past athletic accomplishments and then reattaching them into a single organic-looking form – a “trophy tree” as it’s been called – was decidedly therapeutic. Plus it’s a somewhat elegant solution to a common home storage problem.
