Based on something I wrote and delivered for extra-textual treatment to several artists I knew, You’re Going to Die is a video treatment I received from New York artist Dennis Palazzolo, with narration by Vito Acconci. The text uses a strategy employed in much of my textual work of exploring one monolithic idea ad nauseum bonum, but with a bit of a children’s story tone. Alhough the video was a finalist at the 2003 Student Academy Awards, it should be easy to understand, considering trademark and copyright issues alone, why industry judges could not honor it with an actual award.
Note: This is the original video, not to be confused with any of the responses and reworkings floating around on YouTube. However, I do invite readers to browse the hundreds of amusing comments the original video has generated.
